The School Council

Every year a new School Council is formed by an election.  Each class votes for one boy and one girl from their own class and the successful candidates form the new School Council.  The School Council meets regularly to discuss how we can improve the school and then the councillors pass on any important imformation back to their own class.

Last year the School Council's main project was buying a Pavilion for the Junior playground.  In total they managed to raise £5000, a fantastic achievement!  All the children are now able to benefit from their efforts by using the Pavilion at breaks and lunchtimes.

This year we are raising money to put towards outdoor equipment for the new Junior playground.

We are also working with the Wakefield My Life project and we have regular meetings with Caroline and Anna who work for the My Life Project.  This is really exciting because it gives us the opportunity to make improvements and suggestions not just in our own school, but also in schools all across Wakefield.
