Buddy ReadingEvery day from 1pm to 1.15pm ,sixteen children from year 6 listen to their year 2 buddies read in the school library. They ask questions to develop understanding, give incentives and write positive comments in reading record books. The sessions are run by Mr.Turton every day. Buddy reading is now in its sixth year and evidence suggest that it develops the higher order reading skills of all the children involved, improves SATS results and is excellent for developments in PSHE ( personal & social skills ). The 2 photographs above show buddy reading in action.
